Policy and Research
The AHIMA Foundation is committed to establishing public and private collaborations to advance applied health services research and commissioned work focused on the management of health information. These research findings enrich the HIM knowledge base by producing and publishing evidence-based policies, promising new practices and practical options for decision makers.
The research findings, among other HIM resources, are available for the benefit of AHIMA members in the comprehensive Foundation Library as well as our online searchable database, the AHIMA Foundation Body of Knowledge, or BoK.. Additionally, research findings may be viewed in our publication, Perspectives in Health Information Management. Perspectives is a scholarly, peer-reviewed research journal that promotes the linkage of practice, education, and research providing contributions to the understanding or improvement of health information management processes and outcomes.
