Transforming Health Information

The health information revolution calls for powerful community action and investment now. The AHIMA Foundation is responding to this call with Transforming Health Information, a comprehensive multi-year funding effort to address the critical challenges facing health information. The AHIMA Foundation has developed a comprehensive plan to invest in the people, resources, and ideas that will bring about a new era of health information in America. Donors and volunteers in this shared effort will join with HIM professionals in addressing an era-defining challenge to advance the following goals:

• Growing and strengthening the health information workforce: projected shortage of 75,000 specialists needed by 2014
• Establishing integrated engagement for professionals in every sector of the healthcare field
• Building a solid research base delivering evidenced-based solutions
