Better Health Information. Better Healthcare.

Making a Gift to the AHIMA Foundation

There are numerous ways to give to the AHIMA Foundation. Give in the manner that is most convenient - and even beneficial - to you or your organization:

Outright Gifts or Pledges

The HIM profession is a source of pride and accomplishment - beyond career and livelihood: supporting the AHIMA Foundation ensures the advancement of the HIM profession and its commitment to better health information. To ensure that the resources are available for the future of the profession, a Gift or Pledge to the AHIMA Foundation will increase annual funding for scholarships, research and other critical programs in health information management.

Gifts can be made through monthly, quarterly, or one time payments. Donors are recognized on the Foundation's website and in our annual report;

You can make a gift or pledge in the following ways:

By Check: send to the attention of Mary Taylor-Blasi, Operations & Programs Coordinator, AHIMA Foundation, 233 N. Michigan Avenue, 21st Floor, Chicago, IL 60601. Make check payable to: AHIMA Foundation

By Credit Card: Contact Mary Taylor-Blasi at (312) 233-1131 or email: mary.taylor-blasi@ahimafoundation.org and she will take your information and run your credit card for you.

Gifts of Stock and Securities

Gifts of appreciated stock provide a convenient way to contribute to the AHIMA Foundation. There are financial benefits for donors through tax deductions for the full fair market value of the contributed stock, as well as the ability to minimize taxes on capital gains. For more information about this type of giving, contact Mary Madison, Executive Director, at (312) 233-1167 or mary.madison@ahimafoundation.org.

Gifts of Appreciated Property and other Gifts-in-Kind

Gifts of appreciated property and collections offer another option for donors to support the AHIMA Foundation, in addition to certain tax benefits. To discuss the Foundation’s Gift Policy and the ways in which your donated assets can support the HIM field, please contact Mary Madison, Executive Director, at (312) 233-1167 or mary.madison@ahimafoundation.org.

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts offer benefits through tax deductions and/or the reduction of estate taxes. You may elect to bequeath a percentage of your estate or a specific cash amount. Gifts of retirement plan assets are a tax-wise manner to leave a meaningful legacy to the Foundation for the advancement of the HIM profession. Learn more about leaving a legacy.
