Becky Holton serves as the Director of Development for the AHIMA Foundation and is responsible for the fundraising and marketing/communications program. She has more than 15 years of experience working for social service and healthcare agencies building the marketing and communications strategies, developing resources, and providing oversight to community programming. In addition, her expertise includes strengthening organization's brand, name recognition; and fundraising capacities. Holton served as member of the Southern Arizona Sexual Assault Task Force, and in the capacity assisted with the establishment of a dedicated hospital medical forensic exam room for sexual assault survivors and their families, established a unique collaboration with local domestic violence organization to provide medical forensic exams for strangulation, and helped Southern Arizona counties establish compliance with the Violence Against Women's Act. She helped author and launch a statewide kinship navigator program for informal family caregivers of foster care children, one of seven funded in the country. In addition, Holton helped fund and engage community organizations in strategic partnership discussions, resulting in the three programmatic acquisitions and mergers. Over the course of her career, Holton has championed more than $30 million in the fundraised dollars and managed more than $25 million in Federal/State contracts.
Holton's area of expertise include donor relations and major gifts; corporate and foundation giving; integrated multi-channel branding and messaging; special events and cause-related marketing. Holton's served in the capacity of Chief Development Officer of Arizona's largest child welfare and behavioral health agency, leading the fundraising and marketing efforts, as well as most recently, serving as the first Foundation Director for a large Federally Qualified Health Center. Holton is a graduate of the University of Iowa and holds an Advanced Certificate in Special Education. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the American Marketing Association.
