Janice Mackovitch
Janice Mackovitch has been with AHIMA 11 years and serves as the Annual Giving Manager for the AHIMA Foundation. In this role she reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement and FORE the Future Campaign Director. Janice is responsible for the grassroots component of the Foundation’s fundraising program – primarily through contributions from AHIMA members and other individual donors. Her charges include enhancing participation and overall giving levels through the annual dues check-off program, e-solicitation, direct mail, the Not-So-Silent Auction at the annual convention, and other recurring fundraising programs. Janice also manages the CSA network to engage the state affiliates in advancing the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, and works closely with the Executive Director and Campaign Director on donor relations, stewardship, and capital campaigns. Early in her career Janice held positions in the marketing areas of several firms, and spent several years in direct customer sales. She then moved into the position of Director of Administration for a premier adult independent living facility. Her interest in the healthcare sector led her to work in the Office of the President at Children’s Memorial Hospital, and eventually led her to join the staff of AHIMA. Over the nearly 11 years Janice worked as Executive Assistant to the AHIMA CEO and Board of Directors, her knowledge of the AHIMA organization continued to grow. This extensive organizational knowledge is key for her development of the Annual Giving Manager position. A Chicago native, Janice decided to complete her college education while raising her family and developing her career. She received her Associates Degree at College of DuPage and went on to Governors State University to earn her Bachelors in Health Administration.
