The AHIMA Foundation Mission

To be the preeminent foundation in health information education, leadership, policy and research.

We realize our Mission by focusing our efforts on programs and initiatives that reflect the priorities of the AHIMA Foundation: analyze policy and initiate research to improve HIM practices and advance the profession; create and provide leadership initiatives by offering HIM leadership training and financial support and by providing recognition to those who excel in the HIM field; and grow and strengthen the Foundation so that we can continue to advance all areas of HIM.

It is through our Mission and our priorities that we strive to achieve our vision for the industry as well as the patients we ultimately serve: Better health information for all.

Today, the AHIMA Foundation strives to be the leading resource on managing health information for the healthcare industry and the public at large.
